Campbell Hatton, son of the late boxing legend Ricky Hatton, has announced he will come out of retirement to fight on a special card in Dubai honouring his father's legacy. The 25-year-old lightweight had stepped away from the sport in July 2025 after consecutive defeats to Jack Finch, but will now return for the 'Destiny in the Desert' event on April 11.
The fight night, originally set to feature Ricky Hatton's own comeback against Eisa Al Dah, will now see Kell Brook face Al Dah instead. Campbell will be joined in the ring by his cousins Jack and Lola, the children of his uncle Matthew Hatton, as the family pays tribute to the former world champion who died by suicide in September 2025.
Campbell expressed his motivation, stating he is 'looking forward to getting back in the ring in memory of my dad out in Dubai'. Jack, a 17-year-old amateur, and Lola, who trains at Matthew's gym in Manchester, also shared their excitement. Lola said she is 'buzzing' to fight on the Kell Brook undercard, representing Team Manchester and the Ricky Hatton Foundation.
Following his father's death, Campbell had spoken of their close bond, revealing Ricky called him his 'little Mini-Me'. He described the family as 'absolutely heartbroken' but grateful for the outpouring of support. Campbell has also recently gone public with his relationship with Brooke Heaton, daughter of Ricky's close friend Simon Heaton, who featured in the 2023 documentary 'Hatton'.
