Marco Rose laments Alex Scott injury as Bournemouth return timeline revealed

Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott will be sidelined for four to five weeks with a quad injury sustained while on international duty, manager Marco Rose has confirmed.

The 23-year-old was forced to withdraw from England's Nations League camp prematurely after picking up the injury, with initial fears suggesting he could be out for two months. Bournemouth were reportedly furious that one of their key players would return to Dorset injured, with the Cherries looking to build on a positive start to Rose's tenure at the Vitality Stadium.

Rose's update on Scott's recovery

Speaking ahead of Bournemouth's Premier League trip to Chelsea this weekend, Rose said: "It's an injury from a muscle, and we'll do pictures [scans] in some days again. But we're going to miss him, for sure, for four or five weeks. I'm very disappointed and it's a big loss."

"We miss a very important player, but I don't want to blame anyone. We are very happy that he made his debut for the English national team. He did well and we just hope that he is getting fit again quite soon."

Scott's international breakthrough and transfer interest

Scott impressed while on international duty, earning his first senior start for England under Thomas Tuchel, lining up alongside Elliot Anderson in the 7-0 demolition of Croatia last week. It is believed that the midfielder played in that match despite feeling discomfort in his thigh, which has angered Bournemouth more than anything else.

Scott was the subject of transfer interest from Chelsea in the recent summer window, with the Blues seeing a £64million bid rejected for him earlier this year.
