A 15-year-old boy whose body was found after a major search off the Welsh coast has been named as Marcin Michal Komoszewski.
An inquest into his death was opened at County Hall in Haverfordwest on Thursday, September 24. Marcin lived in Bradford in West Yorkshire.
Incident at Marloes Sands
He was one of three people that got into difficulty in the sea at Marloes Sands in Pembrokeshire on Sunday, August 30. Dyfed-Powys Police, UK Coastguard and RNLI crews were all called to the area.
Two of the three people were able to get out of the water but a major search was launched for missing Marcin, who had travelled to west Wales on holiday. Police confirmed on Wednesday, September 9, that a body had been found during the search for the teenager.
Inquest opened
Opening the inquest on Thursday, Gareth Lewis, senior coroner for Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, said no cause of death had yet been established and that further investigations are ongoing. He adjourned the inquest to a date to be fixed.
