Gianluigi Donnarumma has already received assurances from Manchester City officials that 'sporting justice' will prevail in the 115 charges case. The Italian goalkeeper, who joined last season from Paris Saint-Germain, is scheduled to rejoin his teammates on Thursday for the first time since City's guilt was confirmed, but has already held conversations with the club.
Agent says everyone is calm
Donnarumma's agent, Enzo Raiola, stated that 'everyone is calm' about the situation, despite the serious consequences for the club and its playing squad if the guilty verdicts are upheld. Ahead of team meetings with Enzo Maresca and other club officials this week, many in the squad have received the key messages.
"Will the Manchester City chaos change anything? No, nothing will change for us or for Gigio," Raiola told Radio Napoli Centrale. "News comes out periodically. The club has spoken with Gigio and everyone is calm. Now there are important games against Liverpool and PSG, then sporting justice will take its course. But Gigio has had reassurances from Manchester City."
Maresca faces questions before Liverpool clash
Maresca will hold a press conference on Friday morning ahead of the Liverpool match, where he will be asked about the club's guilty verdicts and their impact on the players. The coach will rely on his four captains to help lift the squad for the upcoming big matches, which now include Donnarumma.
Ruben Dias became captain following Bernardo Silva's departure in the summer, and joining Erling Haaland in the leadership group are Marc Guehi and Donnarumma.
