Trump in 'Excellent' Health Despite Leg Swelling and Bruising, White House Memo Says

Donald Trump remains in 'excellent' health despite experiencing 'lower leg swelling' and 'benign' hand bruising, according to a memo released by the White House from his physician, Dr Sean Barbabella. The memo, dated Tuesday and released late on Friday, states the president is 'fully fit to carry out all duties' of the presidency.

The examination at Walter Reed national military medical center was Trump's third visit in 13 months and fourth in his second term. The White House has previously detailed health conditions such as swollen ankles, bruised hands and a blotchy neck after public appearances raised questions.

Dr Barbabella noted that Trump's leg swelling had 'improved from last year' and described the hand bruising as 'common' and 'benign', attributed to frequent handshaking combined with aspirin use for cardiovascular prevention. The memo did not address a skin treatment on Trump's neck in March or mention a new MRI scan, which he underwent in October.

Trump, who turns 80 on 14 June, is the oldest person ever elected US president. The memo reported normal cardiac function and a comprehensive neurological examination showing 'normal mental status', including screenings for depression and anxiety. His height was listed as 6ft 3in (190cm) and weight as 238lbs (108kg).

Preventive advice included dietary guidance, low-dose aspirin, increased physical activity and continued weight loss. Trump had stated 'everything checked out perfectly' after the visit.
