Shannon Gisela: Rising Star of Ozark Creator's New Thriller

Shannon Gisela is set to make her professional on-screen debut as the lead in M.I.A., a new crime drama from Ozark co-creator Bill Dubuque. The series premieres on Paramount+ in the UK and Peacock in the US on 7th May, with all nine episodes released at once.

Set across Miami and the Florida Keys, M.I.A. follows Etta Tiger Jonze, the ambitious daughter of a family of notorious drug runners. After her family is killed, Etta navigates Miami's underworld to become one of Florida's most powerful crime lords.

Gisela, a South Florida native raised by a Venezuelan mother and Irish-American father, earned a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. She began performing through improv groups and a Saturday Night Live and Upright Citizens Brigade scholarship.
