Dragons' Den is renowned for its tough, shrewd judges who can reduce aspiring entrepreneurs to tears with critiques of their business plans. However, a far friendlier face is set to join the intimidating panel: former Made in Chelsea star and McVitie's heir Jamie Laing.
Insiders reveal that Jamie, married to glamorous Made in Chelsea co-star Sophie Habboo, will appear as a guest investor on the 23rd series of the BBC show. The TV personality certainly has the credentials, having co-founded vegan confectioner Candy Kittens in 2012. The brand, which produces sweets inspired by desserts like Eton Mess, achieved a turnover of £15 million in 2024 and acquired healthy snack brand Graze for £36 million in December.
In addition to hosting BBC Radio 1's drivetime slot, Jamie runs media company JamPot Productions and hosts the popular podcast Newly Parents, where he and Sophie discuss raising their son Ziggy, born in December. Business acumen runs in his blood; his great-great-grandfather, Sir Alexander Grant, founded McVitie's.
When Jamie appears on the show later this year, he will join a long line of celebrities who have invested their own money in entrepreneurs' ideas, including TV star Trinny Woodall, fitness expert Joe Wicks, and former footballer Gary Neville. Whether the reality star will shed his cheerful persona for a Deborah Meaden-style stern gaze remains to be seen.
