Pep Guardiola is reportedly set to leave Manchester City at the end of the current Premier League season, with an announcement expected this week. The Catalan manager has won 20 trophies since arriving in 2016, including a treble in 2022/23, and most recently a domestic cup double in 2025/26.
Enzo Maresca, the former Chelsea and Leicester boss, is the clear frontrunner. The Italian, who served as Guardiola's assistant during City's treble-winning season, has reportedly already agreed to join the club. He won the Conference League and Club World Cup with Chelsea before an acrimonious exit linked to talks with City.
Vincent Kompany, the former City captain, would be a popular choice. Now at Bayern Munich, where he extended his contract until 2029, he led the German side to a Bundesliga title and Champions League semi-finals this season.
Andoni Iraola has announced his departure from Bournemouth this summer. The Spaniard, who spent most of his playing career at Athletic Bilbao, has been linked with a return to Spain but is yet to confirm his next move.
Oliver Glasner, leaving Crystal Palace after two years including an FA Cup triumph over City, is also without a confirmed next role. Cesc Fabregas, the former Barcelona and Arsenal star, now manages Como in Serie A and has been discussed as a contender to replace Guardiola.
