Former Coronation Street actor Daniel Brocklebank has landed a new stage role, reuniting with his former co-star Faye Brookes. The actor, who played Billy Mayhew for 11 years, exited the ITV soap in January during a historic crossover episode with Emmerdale.
Brocklebank will star in the revival of the play 'Double Double', written by Rick Elice and Roger Rees. The production runs from April 28 to May 30 at the Barn Theatre in Cirencester, with a press night on April 30.
The play follows Philippa, whose husband Richard dies just before his 37th birthday, the deadline for her to inherit his £2 million estate. She devises a plan to find a lookalike to pose as Richard so she can claim the inheritance.
Brocklebank shared his excitement on Instagram, posting a selfie with a pint and writing: 'First day of rehearsals on Double Double done! Cheers!' He had previously announced the role in March, saying: 'First day on a new job is always exciting. Best of all I get to reunite with the lovely @faye_brookes for this adventure!'
