Tucker Carlson Calls Trump a ‘Slave’ in Escalating Feud

Tucker Carlson has escalated his feud with Donald Trump, calling the former US president a “slave” who “can’t make his own decisions.” The comments, made to Newsmax on Friday, mark the latest salvo in a bitter war of words between the two former allies.

“I’ve always liked Trump and still feel sorry for him, as I do for all slaves,” Carlson said. “He’s hemmed in by other forces. He can’t make his own decisions. It’s awful to watch.”

The remarks came shortly after Trump posted a lengthy rant on Truth Social, targeting Carlson and other right-wing commentators, including Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones. Trump described them all as having “Low IQs,” calling them “nut jobs” and “troublemakers” who will say anything for publicity.

In response, Carlson launched a new line of merchandise featuring baseball caps with the phrase “LOW IQ,” referencing Trump’s insults. The Tucker Carlson Network advertised the apparel on Friday, saying: “Calling all nut jobs, troublemakers, and third rate podcasters! New merch just dropped.”

The hostility marks a stark contrast to the 2024 campaign trail, when Carlson was a fervent supporter of Trump. At the Republican National Convention, he declared Trump had become “the leader of a nation.” However, behind the scenes, the relationship has long been volatile. During the Dominion Voting Systems defamation trial, internal messages revealed Carlson had described Trump as a “destroyer” and “evil,” saying, “I hate him passionately.”

The Independent has contacted the White House for comment on Carlson’s latest remarks.
