Bournemouth determined to keep Kroupi, Rayan and Scott amid interest

Bournemouth are determined to resist any summer offers for Eli Junior Kroupi, Rayan and Alex Scott, with mounting interest in the trio. The club are confident Scott will sign a new long-term contract despite interest from Premier League rivals, while Europe’s biggest clubs are monitoring the 19-year-olds Rayan and Kroupi.

Scott has been a standout performer for Bournemouth, who qualified for the Europa League, and the club are keen to reward their £25m buy from Bristol City three years ago with a new deal. The 22-year-old midfielder was called up to the England squad in November and will travel to Florida next month for England’s training camp, though he was not named in Thomas Tuchel’s 26-man World Cup squad.

Kroupi became the first teenager to score 13 goals in his debut Premier League season after arriving last summer from Bournemouth’s sister club Lorient. Rayan, who joined from Vasco da Gama in January, is in the Brazil squad for the World Cup. Bournemouth expect Kroupi, a £12m buy, to stay for at least another season, and although there is a €100m (£87m) release clause in Rayan’s contract, it does not come into play until the 2027 summer window.

Bournemouth have traditionally been open to trading players, but of their recent high-profile departures only Dean Huijsen left after one season, when Real Madrid activated his £50m release clause last May. The club will play in Europe for the first time after Andoni Iraola led them to a record sixth-placed finish, despite more than £250m in sales of key players during the season.

Iraola’s next move is unclear, with Milan joining Crystal Palace and Bayer Leverkusen in setting their sights on the coach. Bournemouth want to add three or four players, with priorities including a centre-back to replace Marcos Senesi, who will leave on a free and has interest from Liverpool and Tottenham, and a striker to compete with Evanilson.
