Amazon Prime Day Moves to June: What You Need to Know
Amazon Prime Day Moves to June: Key Details

Amazon Prime Day is back this June, delivering deals across top brands and highly sought-after electronics, beauty, apparel and more. The special shopping day has previously been held in July. Pushing up the date means that Prime Day will occur in Q2 instead of Q3, helping Amazon offset costs associated with launching its satellite Internet service Leo, financial analysts at William Blair told Retail Dive.

What is Amazon Prime Day?

Amazon Prime Day is a major sale event for Prime members. It is typically held twice a year: once in the summer and again in early October, when it is called the Prime Big Deal Days sale, which jump-starts holiday shopping. During the sale, Prime members will be able to access deep discounts on everything from electronics, kitchen, beauty, and apparel to fresh groceries and pantry staples. Amazon is touting its summer Prime Day as a way for members to “get their back-to-school shopping done early, avoiding the lines and enjoying fast, free delivery with Prime,” the company said.

When is the Prime Day sale?

The exact dates for 2026 have not yet been announced; however, Amazon has confirmed that Prime Day will be held in June this year. The online giant is promising discounts on “the hottest brands, socially trending items, creator favorites and Amazon-exclusive products to make this June’s event even more valuable for members.” In previous years, the sale event has been held in July, so it’s hard to predict exactly when the dates will fall this year. This story will be updated when more information is released.

Prime Membership Details

The retail giant’s twice-a-year sale is limited to Prime members. However, Amazon offers a 30-day free trial of Prime, so shoppers interested in trying out the service may be able to take advantage of the discounts. A standard monthly Prime membership in the U.S. costs $14.99 per month, or $139 for a year.
