Tyson Fury and dad John end feud after boxing row

Tyson Fury and his father John have reconciled after a public falling-out over the boxer's return to the ring. Fury shared family photos on social media showing the pair together, signalling an end to months of tension.

Feud over boxing comeback

John Fury, 61, had criticised his son for going back on promises to retire, saying the trilogy with Deontay Wilder in 2018 took a severe toll. He claimed the comebacks had "destroyed" their relationship, and the pair had hardly spoken for months. Fury's wife Paris confirmed the feud was a genuine family fallout driven by two "very stubborn" men.

Reconciliation and social media post

Tyson uploaded a photo of himself with his sons by a fire, tagging his father and writing: "Here with the lads living the good life, stress free! @netflixuk @gypsyprince @gypsyjohnfury." Fans noticed John sitting alongside him, with one commenting: "Just happy to see him spending time with his dad.. who loves him to bits. GO ON TYSON! Things you love to see."

John Fury's earlier comments

John had previously said: "My relationship with Tyson is destroyed. Boxing destroyed it completely. I'll say it on camera: I've never taken £10 off him in my life and I never will. I don't want Tyson's money and I don't need Tyson's money." He also said: "Whatever he's got, good luck to him. But don’t forget who built his story when he was a kid. He didn’t build it himself, did he? Me, his father. I'm a no-filter kind of guy – I say it how I see it."

Tyson responded, telling Sky Sports: "My dad wants the best for his son - he wanted me to retire six years ago after [Deontay] Wilder II. Maybe I should have done, maybe I shouldn't have done. But at the end of the day, that concern's coming from a father, someone's family, someone's blood."

Upcoming fight with Anthony Joshua

The "Gypsy King" is set to face long-time rival Anthony Joshua on December 11 in Cardiff. However, John Fury has said he will not attend the fight, telling Playbook Boxing: "I'll be honest with you, no. No I won't be attending. Let me tell you, you have more chance of seeing a cow fly than me bothering with it. I don't like the people in it, and I know accidents can happen. I'm not involved, so I don't want to go to the fight."
