Trump Celebrates End of Colbert's Late Show

President Trump celebrated the end of Stephen Colbert's show in a scathing social media post. Colbert, whom Trump branded as a 'total jerk,' starred in the final episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Thursday night.

Trump's Social Media Attack

'Colbert is finally finished at CBS,' Trump wrote on Truth Social. 'Amazing that he lasted so long! No talent, no ratings, no life. He was like a dead person,' the president claimed. 'You could take any person off of the street and they would be better than this total jerk.'

Trump added: 'Thank goodness he's finally gone!'

Show Cancellation and History

CBS announced the cancellation of The Late Show in July last year, with Colbert having helmed the show for 11 seasons. Previously, the program had been fronted by David Letterman. The final episode featured a historic surprise appearance by Paul McCartney.
