Tom Hardy has reportedly been axed from the Paramount+ crime series Mobland following behind-the-scenes clashes with production, according to multiple reports.
Sources confirmed to Variety that Hardy was not asked back for season three after issues on set with executive producer Jez Butterworth, 101 Studios, and others. The Independent has reached out to Paramount+ and a representative for Hardy for comment.
Mobland has already wrapped production on season two, which is set to premiere in the coming months. While a third season has not been officially confirmed, it is almost certainly a guarantee amid the show's massive success.
Produced by Guy Ritchie and written by Butterworth and Top Boy screenwriter Ronan Bennett, Mobland boasts an all-star cast including Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren. The series quickly became the second most watched program on Paramount+, trailing only Taylor Sheridan's Landman.
