Channel 5 has confirmed that Anna Madeley will return as Mrs Hall in the upcoming sixth series of All Creatures Great and Small, allaying fan fears that the character might be leaving. The period drama, set in the fictional Yorkshire village of Darrowby, has been a hit since its 2020 debut.
Speculation began when Channel 5 posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) featuring cast members summarising each series in one word. Fans noticed that Madeley was absent from the clip, prompting concerns about her character's fate after the fifth series ended with Mrs Hall learning her son Edward had been injured in the war.
Channel 5's official X account quickly reassured viewers, replying to one anxious fan: 'Oh, don't you worry, Mrs Hall will be there right on time when the new series starts.' In another response, they added: 'Don't worry, Mrs Hall is very much with us.'
The fifth series concluded with the Skeldale House family rallying around Mrs Hall after news that her son's ship had been sunk by Japan. The cliffhanger left fans worried about her future, but the network's confirmation has put those fears to rest.
