Reform UK has launched investigations after an undercover probe by ITV appeared to show a councillor brand Asian homeowners "parasites" and another say King Charles should be beheaded for being Muslim.
A Reform councillor was filmed describing Asian homeowners as "parasites" and saying no more than 1% of Britain's population should be non-white. The comment was among a series of racist remarks by Reform politicians captured on camera in an undercover investigation by ITV News.
Councillor's remarks captured on video
Councillor Alan Feeney, the deputy mayor of Solihull, suggested his area was "infested" with Asian homeowners, and suggested the government should "drag them out of their homes". Another clip showed a South London councillor, Dean Miller, saying the King should be beheaded after claiming the monarch is secretly a Muslim.
Nigel Farage's party said in a statement that investigations had commenced and in some cases figures had been suspended. The footage - set to feature in a 90-minute documentary to be screened on Sunday - raises questions about vetting by Reform UK.
Secretly-recorded video details
Secretly-recorded video shows Mr Feeney looking at cars on a driveway in an area he claims has too many Asian homeowners. In it he said: "Look at this: one, two, three, four, five… this is just what we're infested with…. That is why they are buying along here because the houses have got big gardens. They're parasites, absolute parasites".
Unaware he was being filmed, he appeared to tell an undercover reporter: "When a house comes up for sale, white people need to be in there. You almost need to f***ing out-Muslim the Muslims."
Mr Feeney also said: "I'd be saying no more than 1% of [the] British population can be non-white… you'd need a proper nuclear option, like literally drag them out of their homes, stick them on planes and f*** them off to Pakistan, which you'll never do in a month of Sundays…"
He also stated: "I've seen comments from some people in the Asian community… talking about things like 'Yeah, but we gave you curry.' I was like, 'I didn't realise curry was an exchange that you could then rape all our kids'." Mr Feeney announced he had left Reform for personal reasons this week.
Further allegations and response
Another undercover clip shows Dean Miller, a Reform councillor in Bromley, South London, saying: "Apparently King Charles is a f***ing Muslim… someone from the inside saw a f***ing prayer mat and all that in one of his f***ing rooms… I think that's f***ing traitorous… cut the c***'s head off."
Asked what he'd do about migrants who cross the Channel, he said: "I'd get nicked for saying what I would do. Do you know what I mean? I'll take them out bruv, I don't care… the way I see it, you've got to kill or you're going to be killed... These f******s have come to rape and pillage and f***ing kill us. There's no doubt about it."
Another Solihull Reform councillor, Chris Whelan, is accused of making misogynistic comments about a female Reform candidate. He announced on Monday that he had resigned from Reform. The Mirror has contacted Mr Feeney, Miller and Whelan for comment.
A statement from Reform UK said: "Where members, activists and councillors have clearly behaved inappropriately, investigations have commenced. In some cases, there have been suspensions and due process must be followed."
The statement added: "Reform UK has improved and prioritised its vetting procedures, but from time to time, a handful of individuals who do not share our values will initially make it through vetting. This is the same for all organisations. However good the vetting, one cannot vet a future comment especially in circumstances where an individual is entrapped in a discussion with an undercover reporter. There is no room for racism in Reform UK."
Bridget Phillipson, chair of the Labour Party, said: "The extreme racism and appalling behaviour exposed by this investigation is truly sickening. Nigel Farage can't shrug these latest revelations off as being a few bad apples. Every Reform councillor, council candidate or party member found to have made such despicable comments must be thrown out of Reform UK immediately.
"Nigel Farage needs to explain why this keeps happening in his party and why he is failing to deal with blatant racism among those who stand for public office with his backing. It's clear that Farage and his party are determined to poison our politics and threaten the shared British values Labour will always proudly defend."
The accusations are among those set to feature in 90-minute film Undercover: A Year In Reform, Sunday 18th October at 10.20pm on ITV1, ITVX, STV & STV Player.
