Mirror Football has ranked every Premier League owner from best to worst in the wake of Manchester City's landmark verdict, with Sheikh Mansour placed bottom of the list.
City were found guilty of 114 of the 115 Premier League charges brought against them. The investigation revealed the club engaged in a nearly £1billion scheme involving "sham" arrangements designed to inflate revenues, disguise costs and evade Premier League and UEFA financial regulations between 2009 and 2018.
Top-rated owners
Matthew Benham of Brentford tops the ranking, having invested in the club since 2007 and guiding them from the lower leagues to Premier League regulars with a new stadium. Tony Bloom of Brighton is second, having invested hundreds of millions to create a slick operation, while Bill Foley of Bournemouth is third after taking the club into Europe.
Doug King of Coventry City is fourth for bringing stability since 2023, with his decision to replace Mark Robins with Frank Lampard paying off. Crystal Palace's multi-partner ownership is fifth, with Steve Parish running day-to-day operations.
Mid-table and bottom placements
Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens of Aston Villa are sixth, Stan Kroenke of Arsenal seventh, FSG of Liverpool eighth, Kyril Louis-Dreyfus of Sunderland ninth, and 49er Enterprises of Leeds United tenth. Acun Ilicali of Hull City is 11th, Portman Holding LLC of Ipswich Town 12th, and Shahid Khan of Fulham 13th.
PIF of Newcastle United is 14th, Evangelos Marinakis of Nottingham Forest 15th, Friedkin Group of Everton 16th, Clearlake Capital of Chelsea 17th, ENIC of Tottenham Hotspur 18th, and Glazers/Sir Jim Ratcliffe of Manchester United 19th.
Sheikh Mansour is ranked last, with the guilty verdict and scale of rule-breaking tarnishing his tenure. City intend to appeal against the verdict, and it will take years, possibly decades, for the club's reputation to be repaired.
