Oscar Piastri Dismisses Red Bull Swap Rumours with Verstappen
Piastri Quashes Red Bull Swap Rumours with Verstappen

Aussie motorsport star Oscar Piastri has responded to claims that he may complete a swap deal with Red Bull legend Max Verstappen. Piastri has been linked with a move to Red Bull, with Verstappen potentially heading to Piastri's current team, McLaren. However, the 25-year-old has quashed those claims in a recent press conference ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix.

Piastri Sets the Record Straight

'It is news to me, there's obviously not been any discussions or anything,' Piastri told media. 'It's flattering, yes, but there's not really much more than that, really.' He added, 'I think hopefully it proves my stock as a driver, which is a nice thing, but I'm very happy with where I am.'

Motorsport.com reported earlier this month that both Red Bull and McLaren were considering a swap between the two drivers. The Dutchman, Max Verstappen, has been linked with moves to McLaren, Ferrari, and even retiring from the sport completely. But Piastri's latest comments have all but confirmed he won't be going anywhere.

Piastri's Commitment to McLaren

The Melbourne-born driver is currently contracted to McLaren until the end of 2028. He has so far claimed nine wins for the team and played a major role in McLaren winning back-to-back constructors' titles. Piastri's strong performances have made him a valuable asset, and he remains focused on his future with the Woking-based squad.
