Nobody's Fool: Dyer and Atack's New Quiz Show Divides Fans

Danny Dyer and Emily Atack's new quiz show Nobody's Fool has left many viewers 'hooked' following its debut on Saturday, though some have criticised it as a mere imitation of The Traitors.

What is Nobody's Fool?

The programme is a quiz show with a twist: it is not about contestants' ability to answer correctly, but how well they can convince their rivals that they know the answers. Much like The Traitors, it is fundamentally a game of deception, with a prize pot of up to £100,000 on offer.

The show's synopsis reads: 'It's not about how smart you are, but how smart your rivals think you are. Expect lying, scheming, and a whole lot of quizzing.'

Viewer Reactions

Following the debut, viewers took to social media to share their thoughts. Many were thoroughly impressed:

  • 'Nobody's Fool is addicting! It's like I'm watching The Traitors and Secret Genius at the same time! Great new reality competition show! I'm hooked!'
  • 'Liking this new Nobody's Fool so far on ITV.'
  • 'I'm really into this now! #NobodysFool has me hooked.'
  • 'This is the exact type of sh*t telly that I can't help but love #Nobodysfool.'
  • '#NobodysFool I enjoyed that. A bit of lighthearted entertainment, albeit got a wee bit heated.'
  • 'Ooo I'm really enjoying this show. Nobody's fool and I usually hate this kind of thing.'

However, other viewers had mixed opinions, with some describing it as 'alright' and others slamming it as a rip-off of The Traitors:

  • 'Thought Nobody's Fool was alright. Thought the Spa memory game was very Stu Francis Ultra Quiz - somebody bring that back with Atack and Dyer.'
  • '#NobodysFool is a poor rip off of #TheTraitorsUK.'
  • 'It looks like they have bits from several different shows and thrown them all together hoping it will make a good show, but it has failed miserably.'
  • 'The elevator pitch for Nobody’s Fool was clearly "The Traitors but no likeable characters".'

Hosts' Perspectives

Despite the mixed reaction, Emily and Danny have praised the show's unique format. Danny Dyer said: 'This is a blinder of a game show and unlike anything I've seen before. Emily and I had a brilliant time making it and much like the audience at home will be, we were kept guessing right until the very end.'

Emily added: 'It's so exciting to be part of something this new and fresh. The chance to work with Danny again was a no brainer for me. We had such a laugh. Can’t wait for everyone to watch, it's an absolute must see.'

Danny also addressed allegations that the show is ITV's answer to the BBC's smash hit The Traitors. He told The Chris Evans Breakfast Show: 'I actually watch it unfold on the television and I would sit back and, you know, it's a different kind of thing. And it does sound a bit like The Traitors… but it's got its own energy.'

Nobody's Fool continues on ITV1 on Mondays and Sundays at 9pm and is available to stream on ITVX.
