Mike Tindall has joked that Prince Harry used to be fun, as the former rugby player's new book goes head to head with the paperback version of the Duke of Sussex's memoir Spare, both released on Thursday.
In his book 'The Good, The Bad & The Rugby - Unleashed', co-authored with Alex Payne and James Haskell, Tindall describes joining the Royal Family in 2011 after marrying Zara Tindall. He writes: 'Believe it or not, marrying into the Royal Family was pretty easy for me. They were always nice to me, and I was always nice to them. Simple really.' This appears to contrast with Meghan Markle's experience, who stepped down from royal duties after less than two years.
Tindall also reveals that Prince George 'loves his football' and is 'passionate about Aston Villa', adding: 'Wherever he is, he'll sit down and watch that game.' The father-of-three is known to have a close relationship with the 11-year-old royal.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry's paperback version of Spare includes allegations about the Royal Family, including a physical fight with Prince William and calling Queen Camilla 'dangerous' and a 'villain'. The hardback was originally released in January 2023.
Tindall's friend James Haskell brands Omid Scobie a 'very odd bloke' in the book, and writes that 'royal fans can be mental', adding: 'We all know that American royal fans are f***ing nuts, especially Scobieites.' Scobie previously criticised Tindall for 'cashing in' on his royal connections.
