MAFS UK Star Luke Worley to Run in Clacton By-Election Against Count Binface
MAFS UK Star Luke Worley to Run in Clacton By-Election

Luke Worley, the former Married at First Sight UK contestant removed from the show after an on-screen fight, has declared his intention to stand as an independent candidate in the upcoming Clacton by-election. He will face off against political figures including Nigel Farage and Count Binface, asserting that his local roots give him an edge over his rivals.

Worley told The Sun: 'Nigel Farage might be one of the biggest names in British politics and Lord Binface might be the king of political stunts, but neither of them grew up in Clacton like I did. They can bring the headlines and I'm fine with that but I'll bring the local knowledge and the respect for the local community.'

From Reality TV to Politics

Drawing parallels to Donald Trump's transition from reality television to the White House, Worley quipped: 'I've survived reality TV, so politics should be a walk in the park.' He was ejected from the E4 series in 2023 after a physical altercation with fellow contestant Jordan Gayle, which also led to his on-screen wife Jay Howard leaving the show.

In his campaign announcement on Instagram, Worley shared an AI-generated poster and wrote: 'Today, I'm proud to announce that I will stand as an Independent candidate in the upcoming Clacton by-election. I'm standing because Clacton deserves a representative who answers to the people, not to a political party. My commitment is simple: to listen, be honest, and always put our community first.'

Manifesto Promises Local Focus

Worley emphasised his dedication to the constituency, stating: 'This campaign isn't about egos, it's about giving Clacton a fighter who actually understands what people here have been through. If that ruffles a few feathers along the way, so be it. If you're from Clacton and Vote for me you will basically be voting for yourself as I will be the only voice you have. Ironically it's about time Clacton put Nigel in the Bin. Pun intended.'

His platform includes making life more affordable and revitalising the high street year-round. He added: 'For too long, Clacton has been left behind. It's time to restore pride in our town, support local families, and create opportunities for everyone.'

Background on By-Election

The Clacton by-election was triggered after the previous MP stepped down. Worley joins a field that includes Reform UK leader Nigel Farage and perennial candidate Count Binface. The former reality star hopes to capitalise on local dissatisfaction with party politics. 'I will always put Clacton first. I will listen, work hard, and be an independent voice that answers only to the people of the community,' he said.
