One of the nation's favourite reality shows, Married at First Sight UK, has been axed by Channel 4 bosses following a BBC documentary titled The Dark Side of Married at First Sight, which exposed troubling behind-the-scenes revelations. The show, which paired strangers in an ultimate experiment to find love, has produced numerous reality stars over the years. Here, we look at where some of the most memorable participants are now.
Adam and Tayah Aveling (Series 6, 2021)
Adam and Tayah Aveling found love at the altar in 2021 and officially married in a real ceremony in December 2023 after two years together. Despite warnings from other couples that they were moving too fast, Adam professed his undying love and proposed to Tayah on the show. The couple now have two children: daughter Beau, born in October 2022, and son Jenson, born in April 2024. Celebrating five years together, Tayah shared a nostalgic throwback photo from their MAFS wedding on Instagram.
Amy Christophers (Series 6, 2021)
Amy Christophers did not find her happy ending on MAFS, splitting from groom Joshua after final vows due to his lack of effort. However, her life has flourished since. She became a sports presenter, working with Sports Tonight Live, Channel 5, BBC, and Sky Sports. In March 2025, Amy announced she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Darren, whom she reconnected with via Hinge after knowing him for over two decades. The couple have been together officially since November 2024.
April Banbury (Series 7, 2022)
April Banbury married George Roberts on the show, but their relationship turned sour when George was arrested on suspicion of controlling and coercive behaviour (later dropped). April said the trauma ruined her life and called for better background checks. She was later diagnosed with incurable spinal stenosis. Professionally, she was nominated for UK Top Influencer Awards and won Best Emerging Luxury Bridalwear Designer at the Global Wedding Awards.
JJ Slater (Series 8, 2023)
JJ Slater was originally paired with Bianca Petronzi but started a romance with Ella Morgan on the show, which ended as friendship. After the show, he dated Katie Price for nearly two years, but they split in January 2025. JJ has since moved on with beautician Rachel Alexandra.
Ella Morgan (Series 8, 2023)
Ella Morgan, the first trans woman on MAFS UK, became a reality star and trans activist. She appeared on Celebs Go Dating and dated Alex James Ali, but they split after infidelity rumours. Ella also won a MAFS special of Celebrity Come Dine with Me in 2025 and became the first trans celebrity to front a Superdrug campaign.
Polly Sellman (Series 9, 2024)
Polly Sellman married Adam Nightingale on the show, but they parted ways after final vows. She underwent a health transformation, losing four stone, and moved to Australia on a working holiday visa. She has expressed a desire to stay permanently, citing a new relationship and career changes.
Nathan Campbell (Series 9, 2024)

Julia Ruth, a professional dancer from New Zealand, became the most controversial bride after quitting the experiment with groom Divarni. She claimed producers tried to convince her to stay. Julia is now back modelling and teaching dance at LAX studio.
