Liam Gallagher has claimed Manchester City will not be relegated or stripped of titles if their appeal against a guilty verdict fails, and will instead face a fine and a transfer ban.
The Oasis frontman and City supporter posted on X on Sunday night that he had been told by someone in a very high position that the club would receive a fine and a transfer ban if their appeal was unsuccessful.
Gallagher's claim follows guilty verdict
City were found guilty of 114 of the 115 charges brought against them by the Premier League on Friday. The Premier League have yet to comment on the matter because the sanctions have not been decided.
The eight-time English champions are certain to appeal the verdict, which is expected to drag the saga well into 2027.
Gallagher wrote: "Just been told by someone in a very very high position if we lose our appeal which we won’t we’ll be getting a FINE and TRANSFER BAN and that’s it so all you desperate neurotic S****BUBBLES hush it up to ras MCFC LG x."

Gallagher's claims come after BBC Sport reported similar, saying there is little appetite within the Premier League, by the organisation itself or its clubs, to strip City of past trophies. City won eight major honours in the nine-year timeframe they are accused of breaking the rules.
