Leavitt's resignation: Wolff suggests 'real reason' behind exit

Michael Wolff, a prominent critic of President Donald Trump and author of several books about him, has offered an alternative explanation for Karoline Leavitt's resignation as White House Press Secretary. Leavitt, 28, cited a desire to spend more time with her family, including her two children, as her primary reason for leaving the role she held for over a year and a half.

Wolff's Analysis of Leavitt's Departure

In an extensive post on X, Leavitt stated her motivation for stepping down. Trump also acknowledged her departure on Truth Social, confirming the decision was made so she could dedicate more time to her family. However, Wolff suggested additional factors, including intense scrutiny of her performance from both the press and Trump himself.

The Telegraph reported Wolff's observations on the strain Leavitt experienced, noting that Trump monitored her briefings and provided feedback on her handling of questions. Wolff said: "This is a hard job. People burn out. He's an extremely difficult boss, right? I'm sure that's one of the reasons that she has had enough." He added: "Remember, when she is speaking to the press he is watching her speaking to the press, and then immediately calling her up to criticise how she's spoken to the press."

Other Commentators Weigh In

Columnist Rob Shuter, writing in his Substack column Naughty But Nice, said Leavitt's exit was inevitable. He stated: "Naughty But Nice told you first that Karoline Leavitt's future at the White House was in trouble. Now it has happened. But back in April, Naughty But Nice reported that Trump was already considering potential replacements and that insiders said he was increasingly frustrated with the White House messaging."

The Telegraph's Connor Stringer, who attended briefings where Leavitt was present, suggested replacing her will prove difficult. He remarked: "She was by far Trump's most skilled communicator and I think by losing her, he also loses what I would describe as his most effective translator too. I don't know how they will replace her. I don't think they can, to be honest. She knew the messaging. I never saw her stumped on the podium at all. I can honestly say there wasn't a question put to her that she wasn't able to deflect in some way."

Astrologer's Perspective

Astrology expert TJ Higgs, speaking to the Mirror US, claimed Leavitt had been mulling over her circumstances for some time. On whether it had been a swift decision, he said: "Absolutely not. Karoline is a Virgo, and Virgos don't tend to make big decisions on impulse. She will have analysed this from every possible angle before finally making up her mind. Virgo is also incredibly loyal and hardworking, so I feel there would have been a real battle between her sense of duty and knowing when enough is enough."

Leaked footage revealed a 'tense' interaction between Leavitt and Trump on Marine One hours before her resignation. Trump's blunt two-word comment to Leavitt at her first public appearance since her resignation was revealed by a lip reader.
