Kylie Minogue, the Princess of Pop, has experienced her fair share of heartbreak over the years, from cheating scandals to called-off engagements. Now 54 and loved-up with Paul Solomons, she has also broken a few hearts along the way.
Her most notable romance was with Neighbours co-star Jason Donovan, who she dated in real life after playing Scott and Charlene on the soap. They reunited for the final episode of the Australian soap, which was axed after 37 years. However, Kylie ended their three-year romance after meeting INXS frontman Michael Hutchence.
Jason received a devastating phone call from Kylie while he was in New York and she was in Japan. He later admitted it took years to get over the split. Speaking to The Mirror in 2016, he said: 'It was an extremely painful parting of ways, and without a doubt I took a long time to recover from it. Years definitely.' He added that Michael being 'the greatest rock god of the period' made it harder.
Kylie and Michael dated for only 18 months before he left her for Danish supermodel Helena Christensen. Despite the heartbreak, Kylie said their short-lived relationship 'corrupted' her in the 'most perfect of ways'. Their first encounter was in a bar in 1989, where Michael said: 'I don't know what we should do first, have lunch or have sex.'
Kylie revealed she had 'lots of firsts' with the rockstar, including taking ecstasy during what she called a 'wild phase'. She also allegedly joined the Mile High Club on a Qantas flight, sitting behind then-Australian Prime Minister Bob Hawke. While Kylie never confirmed the rumour, her friend Nick Egan claimed it happened in first class, with Kylie on Michael's lap under a blanket.
