YouTube star KSI, real name Olajide Olatunji, is under fire from women's groups for a series of old videos that allegedly trivialise rape. The coalition End Violence Against Women has called on YouTube to remove the content, which includes a 'rape face' skit and a video where he repeatedly calls a model a 'slut'.
KSI, whose channel has over 10.2 million subscribers, was also banned from the Eurogamer Expo three years ago for inappropriate sexual behaviour. His debut book 'I Am A Bellend' was published on 24 September and debuted at number 23 in UK charts.
Sarah Green from End Violence Against Women said: 'Trivialising and minimising rape contributes to a culture where rape is not taken seriously.' She urged YouTube, advertisers and publishers to reconsider their association with KSI.
A spokesman for KSI said the star removed all offensive material two years ago and described it as a 'mistake as a teenager'. He added that KSI has not used the term 'rape face' for almost two years and does not support such montages.
The controversy echoes a similar row involving YouTuber Dapper Laughs, whose ITV show was cancelled after he made a rape joke.
