Kate Garraway's Life Stories Show Set to Be Axed After 17 Years
Kate Garraway's Life Stories Axed After 17 Years

Kate Garraway is reportedly facing a significant blow to her television career as her show, Life Stories, is set to be axed after 17 years on air. The programme, which she took over from Piers Morgan in 2021, has seen a sharp decline in episodes, sparking rumours of its cancellation.

Declining Episodes

Since taking over, Garraway has hosted only seven episodes: three in 2022, three in 2023, and just one in 2025. With no new episodes scheduled, insiders suggest the show may not return. An insider told The Sun: “When Piers was fronting Life Stories, it was on our screens constantly for 12 years — often with two series a year. But the last time we saw Kate fronting a whole series was in 2023, and ITV haven’t given any indication when, if ever, the show will return.”

Possible Reasons

ITV has stated that the show has not been officially axed and that more episodes could be made “if the guest was right.” However, it has been suggested that guests now prefer appearing on podcasts rather than traditional television interviews. Piers Morgan himself now hosts a video podcast, Piers Morgan: Uncensored, featuring stars like Freddie Flintoff and Sharon Osbourne, both former guests on Life Stories.

Garraway has been busy with her day job on Good Morning Britain, award-winning documentaries, and appearances on BBC’s The Celebrity Traitors. Meanwhile, the show’s future remains uncertain.

Memorable Moments

During Piers Morgan’s tenure, the show featured iconic interviews, including Mel B revealing a past relationship with Geri Halliwell, Michael Parkinson breaking down over his father’s death, and Caitlyn Jenner discussing her gender transition. Kate Garraway’s guests included John Barnes, Nadiya Hussain, Charlotte Church, Anton Du Beke, Ruby Wax, Omid Djalili, and Jeremy Kyle.

ITV has been approached for comment but has not yet responded.
