Joe Jonas has opened up about his co-parenting relationship with ex-wife Sophie Turner, describing it as 'beautiful' less than two years after their separation. The 35-year-old musician and the 29-year-old actress, who share daughters Willa, four, and Delphine, two, finalised their divorce in September 2024 following a contentious legal battle.
In a TikTok video with motivational speaker Jay Shetty, Jonas said: 'I have a beautiful coparenting relationship that I’m really grateful for. Having an incredible mom, Sophie, for those girls is like a dream come true.' He emphasised the importance of strong female role models for his daughters, adding: 'As young girls, looking up to great women is what I want for them.'
Jonas also discussed the values he hopes to instil in his children, saying: 'I think what values I want for them are to be open-minded and have a big heart, be able to walk into any room and feel confidence and know that they can do literally anything they want.' When asked if the girls might pursue careers in show business, he joked: 'We might want them to wait a little while.'
Turner hinted at their amicable relationship by sharing Jonas's new album, Music for People Who Believe in Love, on her Instagram Stories on Saturday with the caption: 'Go go @joejonas.' The album was released on Friday, May 23.
During a TalkShopLive stream last Wednesday, Jonas reflected on the most 'intimidating' part of his divorce, recalling a conversation with someone he was dating. He said: 'It was really scary and intimidating. Love takes different shapes and forms and I was rediscovering what that was.' The person told him: 'Well, it's only love,' which inspired his song Only Love. Jonas added: 'It's okay to take a leap of faith and just try again and put yourself out there.'
