The BBC has released first-look images and cast details for the second season of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, confirming the fate of Jamie Reynolds, a new character played by Eden Hambelton-Davies. The series, based on Holly Jackson's bestselling books, is now in production following the success of season one in 2024.
Jamie Reynolds is described as Connor's brother, a quiet but popular local musician whose sudden disappearance sends shockwaves through the community. Author and series writer Holly Jackson praised Hambelton-Davies's performance, stating: 'Eden is sensational as our Jamie, his presence felt throughout, even though he’s missing.'
The new season will see Emma Myers return as Pip Fitz-Amobi, the amateur sleuth who solved the Andie Bell murder in season one. However, as Max Hastings's trial approaches, Jamie's disappearance forces Pip back into investigating, racing against time to find him. The synopsis notes that Pip's world has been transformed by her previous actions, and she struggles with the idea of justice, straying further from the 'good girl' she once was.
Joining the cast are Misia Butler as Stanley Forbes, a figure on the fringes of the investigation with deeper connections, and Jack Rowan as Charlie Green, Pip's new neighbour drawn into the mystery. Other new cast members include Anna Brindle, Peter Sullivan, Freddie Thorp, Lu Corfield, Stephanie Street, and Freddie England. Returning cast includes Zain Iqbal, Henry Ashton, Asha Banks, Yali Topol Margalith, and Jude Morgan-Collie.
The six-part second series will premiere on the BBC and, outside the UK and Ireland, on Netflix. In Germany, it will be available on ZDFneo, and in Australia on Stan.
