Controversial influencer Jamie Azzopardi has made a much-anticipated return to Australian Fashion Week, arriving at the 2025 event in Sydney on Monday in a bold white gown resembling a wedding dress. The non-binary influencer, who uses they/them pronouns, was accompanied by four assistants who held up the voluminous frock featuring a long, flowing train.
The elaborate dress included a ruffled neckline, sheer panels with pearl details, a belted waist, and layers of tulle around a beaded bodice. Azzopardi completed the look with sunglasses adorned with matching pearls and a pair of long black boots.
This entrance follows last year's arrival in an Edwardian-style outfit, which drew criticism from Married At First Sight star Carolina Santos. Santos commented on social media, questioning why people were holding Azzopardi's clothes. In response, Azzopardi clapped back, asking Santos what she knew about the Met Gala.
Industry insiders have noted that Australian Fashion Week has shifted from a prestigious event to one frequented by reality stars and micro-influencers, with some designers reportedly cautious about associating with fame-seeking personalities.
