James Argent Pays Tribute to ‘Dear Mate’ Jake Hall Following Sudden Death at 35

Reality TV star James Argent has paid tribute to his former The Only Way Is Essex (Towie) co-star Jake Hall, who died suddenly at the age of 35. Argent, known as “Arg”, took to social media to remember Hall as having “infectious energy” and being “one of a kind”.

Argent posted a behind-the-scenes video from a photoshoot organised by Hall four years ago, after Argent had achieved a significant weight-loss goal. In his post, Argent described how Hall insisted on the shoot to boost his confidence, saying: “He did this because he wanted me to finally feel good about myself. He gave me so much confidence. He spent the day raising me up.”

The tribute was met with an outpouring of support from fans and former Towie co-stars, including Billie Shepherd, Danielle Armstrong and Ferne McCann. Hall joined the cast of Towie in 2015 and left in 2024, also running a menswear brand called By Jake Hall.

Other celebrities have also paid their respects. Soap star Ryan Thomas shared a video compilation and revealed the last text he received from Hall, praising him as “always the coolest guy in the room”. The mother of Hall’s eight-year-old daughter River, Misse Beqiri, posted on Instagram that their hearts were “shattered” but that she loved Hall from “the very first moment I saw you”.

Former Towie co-star Vas J Morgan described Hall’s death as a “deeply difficult loss”, while DJ Fat Tony called it “such an awful loss to the world”. Hall’s death has prompted a wave of tributes from friends and fans alike.
