The family of Jake Hall, the former TOWIE star who died in a tragic accident in Majorca, have made a poignant pilgrimage to the island just days after his death. The 35-year-old reality TV personality and artist died last Wednesday after running through a single-glazed glass door at an Airbnb in Santa Margalida.
Family's Emotional Visit
Jake's father Greg, mother Jacqueline, and brother Sonny flew to the Spanish island and visited a sculpture that Jake had unveiled just a month ago. Greg shared a photograph online of himself standing under the sculpture with his younger son and Jake's mother, writing: 'Thank you so so much for all your love. Visited our Son's sculpture yesterday.' The family were joined by Jake's close friend Sophie Brooke Flecks, who appeared to be comforting Jake's mother as they looked at his artwork.
Financial Troubles Revealed
It has also been revealed that Jake had built up a debt mountain of nearly £1.5 million before his death. His fashion firm Prevu London Limited went into liquidation with debts of around £1.49 million, according to a Companies House report from 2025. The failed business owed £181,581 to HMRC alone, plus a £1.1 million loan to a property business in Essex, and hundreds of thousands of pounds to other unnamed creditors. A close friend said: 'He wanted to live like Cristiano Ronaldo but had the budget of a Towie star. There was a point when Jake was on the show when he had the world at his feet. He suddenly had loads of money and his business went well but that had not been the case more recently. He would put up a big front but the money wasn't there any more.'
Details of the Accident
Jake had arrived at the villa on Tuesday morning and later went on a night out in Palma before returning with two other men and three women, thought to be in their twenties. They partied into the morning, and around 7:15 am, the accident occurred. Neighbors heard a loud crash followed by glass shattering. Rafael, 70, who lives opposite, rushed into the home and found Jake covered in cuts. He said: 'It looked like he ran through the glass patio door thinking it was open but in reality it was closed. He was badly cut all over his body, especially on his arms. He had glass shards lodged in his neck and chest. There was a big red mark on his head.' Emergency services declared Jake dead at the scene. The Guardia Civil confirmed no criminal activity, and an autopsy will determine if alcohol or drugs were involved.
Jake's Mental Health and Art
Jake, who had ADHD and dyslexia, spoke openly about his mental health, referring to Majorca as his 'healing island' and crediting his eight-year-old daughter, River, for saving him. He said a year ago: 'I was at a very low point. River is the reason I'm here today.' His friend David Gomez said Jake was most at peace when with his daughter. Jake had returned to the island to focus on his artwork and was looking for more spaces to display his work. His first sculpture was on show at NU Mallorca beach club, where owners paid tribute, saying: 'Jake, you and your art will forever remain in our hearts and in our space.' Hours before he died, Jake shared a video of himself dancing and painting, set to the Rolling Stones' 'Beast of Burden', captioned: 'Life is b******s sometimes but I'm gonna try to remember the good things.'
