Dani Dyer has shared a heartfelt birthday message to her father Danny on his 44th birthday, days after her ex-boyfriend Sammy Kimmence was sentenced to three years in prison for fraud. The Love Island star, 24, posted a black-and-white photo on Instagram Stories of herself cuddled up to her father, writing: 'So grateful to have a dad like you in my life.'
Dani, who ended her two-year relationship with Sammy after his conviction, told her EastEnders actor father: 'Thank you for all the laughs and being the most amazing grandad to Santi. Love you millions.' She also shared a video of Danny messing around in a recording studio for their joint podcast, Sorted with the Dyers.
The birthday tribute comes after Dani returned to social media on Thursday to celebrate six months with her son Santiago, born in January. She posted adorable snaps of the baby with his toy rabbit, writing: '6 whole months of loving you baby boy… You’ve made me realise how precious time is.' She did not mention Sammy, who is now serving a 42-month sentence for scamming two pensioners out of £34,000.
Sammy, 25, was convicted of five counts of fraud after persuading vulnerable elderly clients to let him invest their money, then using it to fund a lavish lifestyle. One victim was left 'living on the breadline'. Prosecutors described his actions as 'a fox getting a key to the chicken pen'.
Dani's family are said to be relieved she has split from the conman, with her father Danny reportedly telling her 'she will never be alone as a single mum'.
