Adam banned his mother Caroline and other relatives from attending his wedding due to the rift, first revealed by The Daily Mail last autumn. The snap follows accusations from Adam's estranged family that he is 'cashing in' on his celebrity chef father-in-law Gordon Ramsay by competing in the Commonwealth Games under his new name. The Olympian, 31, who aims to make history at the upcoming event in July with Team England, is using the surname Adam Ramsay-Peaty because the 'Ramsay name opens doors,' according to a family source.
The insider told the Daily Mail: 'As much as Adam wants to be a Ramsay, he is not. He is a Peaty. Adam has financial control and is cashing in on the Ramsay name because it opens doors. He is playing a role.'
The swimmer, who married Gordon's influencer daughter Holly Ramsay at a high-profile wedding in Bath Abbey in December, has been fully embraced by the famous TV chef and his wife Tana, even calling them 'dad' and 'mum'.
