Fielder, from Hastings, East Sussex, was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer at 38 despite never smoking or vaping. Hosts Ranvir Singh and Tom Swarbrick announced the news, with Singh saying: 'I'm afraid to say Jules has sadly died aged just 42.' Swarbrick added: 'Amazing woman, an amazing campaign.' The show spoke to Fielder's friend and MP Helena Dollimore, who highlighted her work including a campaign to display lung cancer symptoms in Boots pharmacies and a visit from the Prime Minister.
Dollimore said: 'We're all so grateful for the legacy that Jules leaves. She was given this terrible diagnosis at the age of 38, terminal lung cancer, and she chose to use the time that she had left campaigning for others.' She added: 'The sky was the limit with Jules, she was a force of nature.'
Fielder's Instagram account, just_beingjules, announced her death on Friday with a post reading 'One Bad A** Bougie B****' and dove and white heart emojis. Followers paid tribute, with one writing: 'You fought till the very end. You really were the definition of a truly incredible woman.'
