GB News Presenters in Tears Over Footage of Stabbed Teen Henry Nowak
GB News Presenters Weep Over Stabbed Teen Footage

GB News presenters Patrick Christys and Carole Malone were visibly emotional as they shared breaking news about the death of a teenager. The broadcast included an update on the death of Henry Nowak, who was stabbed by Vickrum Digwa, 23, while walking home after a night out in Southampton in December. Nowak was handcuffed by police as he lay dying at the scene, after Digwa claimed he had racially abused him.

Bodycam Footage Shown

The GB News panel were shown bodycam footage released by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, which captured the 18-year-old lying face down on the gravel. The footage has been called "disturbing and tragic" by Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood. In the clip, Nowak repeatedly told officers "I have been stabbed" and "I can't breathe", yet an officer could be heard responding: "You've been stabbed, mate? I don't think you have."

Christys' Emotional Reaction

The exchange left Christys visibly shaken, as he buried his head in his hands and said: "They read him his rights, they handcuff him, they drag him around the gravel. They say, 'I don't think you've been stabbed.' They don't care, do they? They listened to that bloke who we now know is the murderer, they say, 'Have you been hurt?' and he goes, 'Yeah I've got a bit of swelling on my eye.'" He went on: "The first thing those police officers heard when they got to that scene was that this guy had been swaying from side to side, couldn't prop himself up and was bleeding, and they didn't care. What a horrible, horrible way to die."

Malone's Tearful Response

Malone was tearful as she addressed the footage. "I have never seen anything like that," she said. "I've never seen anyone die on camera before. His parents have had to see that time and time again. They saw it in court. They will live with that memory all of their lives. They have to live with seeing that their son could have been helped, maybe even saved. And they're listening to the idiot and the people around him who did it." She went on to say: "I hope Keir Starmer watches that tonight and weeps in the same way everyone in this studio is weeping, because it's the worst thing I've ever seen."
