Sarah Ferguson knew Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were plotting their return to the UK, a royal author claims. Andrew Lownie said "bomb-proof" sources told him the former Duchess of York was well aware of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's plan.
He said: "Ferguson knew what was going on and she laid her own plans accordingly." Mr Lownie suggested Fergie either heard about it from her daughter, Princess Eugenie, or directly from Meghan.
Author's Claims About Fergie's Knowledge
The author of Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York claimed the Duchess of Sussex would have had two "sound" reasons to tell Ferguson. Mr Lownie, writing in the Daily Mail, said both women shared similar experiences, having "existed in a state of open warfare" with the Palace "machine".
He added that Meghan has viewed Ferguson as an example of how it is possible to be half-in and half-out of the Royal Family, "trading on title and tradition to make money".
Return to Britain
The royal biographer suggested Ferguson would make her UK return while media attention focuses on Harry and Meghan, leaving limited capacity to probe the former Duchess of York's living arrangements. His opinions came after it emerged on Saturday (August 29) that Ferguson has returned to Britain.
She left the UK amid the fallout over her and ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's friendship with the convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. The former Duchess of York, 66, lost her title in October along with Andrew after revelations over their links to the late financier.
One email exchange suggested Sarah took her daughters to see Epstein in the US days after he was released from prison for child sex crimes.
Living Arrangements
King Charles's former sister-in-law is renting a six-bedroom gated property in the Home Counties, according to The Sun. Fergie could "imminently" move into a new home, which has three bathrooms and a "granny annexe", according to the same publication.
Her expected return comes just days after Harry and Meghan came back to Britain with their children to begin a new life after six years living in the US. It is believed Fergie has been spending her time out of the public eye at a Swiss Alpine chalet in Verbier. Her belongings were collected from Andrew's home in Sandringham this week, The Sun reports.
