Details of Jeffrey Epstein’s will have emerged as part of a document release by the US Department of Justice, revealing that the bulk of his estate was left to Karyna Shuliak, a Belarusian dentist who was his girlfriend at the time of his death. The will, signed two days before Epstein’s suicide in August 2019, bequeathed Shuliak $100 million, including a $50 million annuity, along with properties such as a New Mexico ranch, a Paris apartment, a New York townhouse, and two private islands.
Shuliak, now 36, came to the US in 2010 after meeting Epstein while living in Minsk. Emails show Epstein coached her on obtaining a US visa as a “cleaning lady”. He later paid for her dentistry studies at Columbia University and hired a lawyer to help her secure a green card and citizenship, which she obtained in 2018. Epstein also supported her parents, sending over $20,000 a month and covering her mother’s cancer treatment.
Epstein’s will also mentioned a 33-carat diamond ring intended for Shuliak “in contemplation of marriage”. However, much of the estate has been sold to fund a $121 million compensation fund for victims, and remaining assets are tied up in court in the US Virgin Islands. Shuliak currently lives in a Manhattan apartment owned by Epstein’s brother.
