Emmerdale newcomer Beth Cordingly has confirmed she is in a relationship with former soap star Ian Kelsey, who played Dave Glover on the ITV1 show in the 1990s. The actress, 47, who recently debuted as Ruby Fox-Milligan, has been dating the 57-year-old actor since 2021.
Cordingly told The Mirror she is 'very in love' and 'very happy', crediting their shared profession for a supportive partnership. 'He has been so fantastic,' she said, noting that Kelsey encouraged her to take the Emmerdale role and understands the demands of acting.
The couple knew each other for 20 years before reconnecting in 2021. Cordingly's character Ruby is the wife of Kim Tate's enemy and stepson Caleb Milligan, played by William Ash. Kelsey's character Dave had an affair with Kim Tate before dying in a fire in 1997.
Cordingly, known for roles in The Bill, EastEnders and Doctors, described Ruby as 'a firecracker and a trouble-maker'. Kelsey has since appeared in Casualty, Blue Murder and Coronation Street.
