Pressure is mounting on Democratic National Committee (DNC) chair Ken Martin after he delayed the release of the party's autopsy report on its 2024 election loss for months. The 192-page analysis, once finally made public, has sparked widespread criticism and calls for Martin's resignation.
David Hogg Leads Calls for Resignation
David Hogg, the former DNC vice-chair, issued a statement on Thursday urging Martin to step down. "This autopsy and the months-long debate about even releasing the report is a demoralizing joke," Hogg wrote. "Ken Martin should resign, and the DNC should select a new leader who demonstrates competence, creativity, moral clarity, and a relentless commitment to actually changing the broken Democratic Party brand."
Congressional Support for Resignation
Some Capitol Hill figures have also joined the chorus. Representative Seth Moulton of Massachusetts told Axios that Martin "should resign," adding that it is "utterly nuts it took us this long to release the autopsy." The delayed release and contentious internal debate have eroded confidence in Martin's leadership at a critical time for the party.
