Daily Star readers on Trump, eclipse, heatwaves and more

Daily Star readers have been sharing their unedited opinions on a range of topics, from Stormy Daniels' comments on President Trump to the recent eclipse and summer heatwaves.

Stormy Daniels on Trump

Adult film actress Stormy Daniels, known for the alleged Trump scandal, said: “Many don’t just accept the President’s behaviour plus Iran war, grocery and gas bills making it harder to survive. They support it by looking the other way and fooling themselves while he rakes in billions.”

Brian Linford from Pontefract commented: “I would have paid money to see that big doughnut trump put in the back of caterers truck.”

Eclipse reactions

Dennis Fitzgerald noted: “As the old quote says ‘the sun never sets on the British Empire’ but it has for about half an hour to much fanfare. Eclipses are fascinating and seemingly inevitable when there is a time travel story and the traveller always seem to know there will be one if they get into trouble. They should also be treated with respect and never look at them without appropriate glasses despite President Trump’s example. Enjoy them when they happen and your world will only be dark for a short time.”

Mjb from Cwmbran said: “I get it that this summer has broken heat records in 2026! But i dont get sunburn or have a sun tan anymore! My theory is the sun is giving off a different kind of ray these days?..Also what a let down with the eclipse! Never went dark at all in my neck of the woods, cwmbran!”

Jimbo questioned: “Er they showed a live total eclipse in spain yet the people there where in daylight with no moon near the sun and they said they could see it???”

Heatwaves and water

LEODIS remarked: “I don’t recall back in the day summer being split into sections and called heatwaves.”

Phil ng4 commented: “if there wasnt a f***in car wash on every corner maybe there would be more water.”

Maurice from Nottingham asked: “People at the top are moaning about lack of water, we are an island What about de-salination plants?”

Phantom Texter joked: “Personally i blame the eclipse on climate change. And why not? Lol.”
