The Guardian has issued corrections to two recent articles. In his conference speech, Andy Burnham promised that low-income pensioners would not pay income tax on their state pension during this parliament. This clarifies an earlier report that suggested he promised to exempt pensioners from income tax entirely.
Thaksin Shinawatra’s title corrected
Thaksin Shinawatra was the prime minister of Thailand, not the country’s president, as was previously stated. The correction appears in an article titled “We’re bang to rights – but good may come of it,” published on 26 September.
Other amended articles
Other recently amended articles include a review of “Britain’s Slave Traders” by William A Pettigrew, a report on Tokyo’s record 35 consecutive days of rain, a piece on broken sculpture, an article on UK wildfire investigators, an obituary for Sandro Mazzola, and a commentary on the Manchester City case.
