Coronation Street is set to reveal who killed Theo Silverton, but not before a hospital dash for Summer Spellman. The evil scaffolder, played by James Cartwright, was found dead at the end of Murder Week after abusing Todd Grimshaw for almost a year.
The official suspects include Todd, Gary Windass, George Shuttleworth, Christina Boyd, Theo's ex-wife Danielle Anderson, and Todd's adoptive daughter Summer. Summer has been charged by DS Lisa Swain after a brooch belonging to her was found in Theo's flat.
In upcoming scenes, Todd receives a call from the prison informing him that Summer has been admitted to hospital. She admits she switched off her insulin pump because she can't cope with life in prison, leaving Todd horrified.
Actress Harriet Bibby, who plays Summer, previously said her character deserves to be a suspect. She added that there could have been a scenario where Summer felt it was either her or Theo, given his threats to bury her if she got in his way.
Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and streams from 7am on ITV X.
