TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson has shared a story about how he caught a suspected 'dogger' in the woods near his Cotswolds home - and the quick-witted reaction he then received from the young man he surprised. The former Top Gear host and star of Clarkson's Farm has already told of the area's apparent dogging history.
He previously described how The Farmer's Dog pub he opened in 2024, not far from his Diddly Squat Farm home, is on a former dogging site where he also found some women's underwear. Now, writing in The Times, he told of another incident that took place closer to his farm.
The encounter in the woods
In his column, he wrote: "We like to think this is mostly the preserve of suburban housewives in home country pampas places like Beaconsfield but in the not too distant past, the car park at my remote Cotswolds pub was a hot spot as well." He then added: "It's even happened, on a smaller scale, on my farm."
He said he was returning there one evening when he noticed a "suspicious-looking" vehicle parked near the wood. When he stopped by the passenger window, he found just a teenager inside, aged only about 17, who was smoking a "doobie", he said, with one hand while "frantically" performing a sex act with the other.
The teenager's response
When he realised he was seen, the teenager responded: "Oh my God, you're Jeremy Clarkson." He then said, in a line which Clarkson said he thinks is one of the best he's ever heard: "I rather wish we had met in different circumstances."
