Carlson Accuses Trump of Treason Over Iran War

Conservative commentator Tucker Carlson has accused US President Donald Trump of treason in a fresh attack over the administration's handling of the war in Iran.

Speaking to Arabian Business, Carlson said the conflict has "hurt" the United States while "gravely damaging" its economy.

Carlson's Treason Claim

"Donald Trump's behaviour is treason against the United States," Carlson said.

"We followed a foreign power into a war that has hurt us. Americans have died in that war. Our economy has been gravely damaged… and energy prices have spiked because of the war. So it's been all downside for the United States."

He added: "And we did it at the demand of a foreign power. That is a betrayal of the United States. That's called treason."

White House Response

In response to Carlson's claims, the White House told Arabian Business: "President Trump is committed to ensuring that Iran can never have a nuclear weapon. Meanwhile, Tucker Carlson continues to be a whiny turncoat who dramatically overestimates his influence and relevance."
