Next week on Coronation Street, Carl Webster's criminal activities come to a head when a stolen car crash leaves a character seriously injured. Carl, who is struggling to pay off Tracy Barlow after she discovered his affair with Abi Franklin, enlists teenagers Brody and Dylan to steal cars. However, their joyride ends in disaster when they run over a pedestrian.
The victim is believed to be Betsy Swain, who is seen screaming as a car speeds towards her. After the crash, detective Kit Green finds the car has been torched to hide evidence. George Shuttleworth later confronts Dylan, revealing he knows the teen was driving. Meanwhile, Carl confesses to Abi that he forced the boys to steal cars, leaving her to decide how to react.
In other developments, Betsy's 18th birthday party takes a tense turn when she argues with her mother, Lisa Swain, over her social life. Betsy reveals she slept with Dylan the night before and storms out, leaving a voicemail for her mother just before the crash. Lisa is seen spiralling in shock the next day, suggesting Betsy may be the one in hospital.
Additionally, a pregnancy test found in David Platt's bin sparks a mystery. David initially suspects it belongs to Betsy, but his sister Sarah wonders if it could be his daughter Lily's. The owner of the test will be revealed by the end of the week.
