Kiwi Woman Loses Over a Kilo on Week-Long Taco Diet

A New Zealand woman has lost 1.1 kilograms after eating only tacos for a week, following a diet plan from a book called The Taco Cleanse. Claire Atkinson documented her experience for Urban List, eating tacos for breakfast, lunch, and dinner from Wednesday to Sunday.

Published in late 2015, The Taco Cleanse claims to be a 'diet proven to change your life' and includes over 75 vegan recipes. Atkinson began the week excited, enjoying breakfast tacos with scrambled egg, salami, and spinach, as well as chicken chipotle tacos.

However, by day three the novelty wore off, and she reported feeling 'tacoed-out'. By the end of the week, she noted having more energy but realised tacos are best as an occasional treat. 'Do I still like tacos? Yes, but we're going to take a break for a while,' she said.

The taco cleanse follows a similar trend from last year, when US woman Charlotte Palermino lost 2.2 kilograms by eating only pizza for a week. She told Cosmopolitan she felt great with glowing skin.
