Bonnie Tyler, the 74-year-old singer known for hits such as 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' and 'Holding Out for a Hero,' has been placed in an induced coma at a hospital in Portugal after her condition worsened following surgery.

According to Portuguese news outlet Correio da Manha, Tyler is unconscious and connected to a breathing ventilator in the intensive care unit at Faro Hospital. The singer had undergone emergency intestinal surgery earlier this week and was initially reported to be recovering well. However, her condition deteriorated, leading to the induced coma.
Initial Reports
Earlier this week, a spokesperson for Tyler stated that the surgery went well and she was recuperating. The statement read: 'We are very sorry to announce that Bonnie has been admitted to hospital in Faro, Portugal, where she has a home, for emergency intestinal surgery. The surgery went well and she is now recuperating.'
