West Ham United will celebrate their first major trophy in 43 years with an open-top bus parade through east London on Thursday evening. The club secured the UEFA Europa Conference League title with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Fiorentina in Prague, with Jarrod Bowen scoring the 90th-minute winner.
The parade will start at 7pm BST at the junction of Green Street and Barking Road, near the Boleyn Pub and The Champions Statue, paying homage to the club's former home at Upton Park. The bus will then proceed west along Barking Road, turn right onto Greengate Street, and continue along the A112 past Plaistow Park, Plaistow Station, and Stratford Park, before ending at Stratford Town Hall on West Ham Lane around 8pm BST.
Upon arrival at Stratford Town Hall, the Mayor of Newham, Rokhsana Fiaz, will welcome the team, and captain Declan Rice will lift the trophy again for the gathered supporters. The club has advised fans to stay hydrated due to forecasted hot temperatures and to spread out along the route to maximise viewing opportunities.
This victory marks West Ham's first European trophy since the 1965 Cup Winners' Cup triumph, when Bobby Moore and his teammates held a similar parade. The club's statement noted that the parade will honour that legacy, with the new generation of trophy-winning heroes celebrating in the heart of the borough of Newham.
